August 3 Tuesday, 1943

ToDay is the Birthday of

Fair and warm wind So.

Chet worked up around the house all day and I watered.

Harold Damond called me up at 5:30 and wanted me to show him where to pick some swamp blueberries so I took him, his wife, and son and a girl up to my pet swamps and we picked about 12 quarts all told.

Walder’s brother was up for 24 hours from Washington. He is a Commander in the Naval Intelligence.

I had a nice letter from Fred Johnson of the Philips Academy Museum of American Archaeology.

We had some people up on the hill this afternoon to look the garden over.

Bill Whiting was up to see me this morning.
