149th day- 216 days follow

Fair + Hot

Trimmed lawns all day.

At noon I potted up a lot of plants to take to the cemetery tonight.

Thel and I did some shooting after supper.

We went up to the cemetery and decorated the graves.

There was a lot of people and cars in the cemetery.

I saw a pair of quail up on the hill, and a couple of chipmunks.

The jury went out on the Goodale Murder Trial tonight.*

*Editor’s note: On July 28, 1946, Ruth McGurk disappeared after being at the Colonial Casino in Onset. She was found four days later in a Carver reservoir. In May of 1948, Charles Russell Goodale went to trial for the murder, but he was found not guilty.
