Fair + Warm
This A.M. Harry and I went out to Duxbury and Marshfield to the Winslow site.
One pleasant surprise was to have Lee Hallet come over for a few hours in the afternoon. I like Lee very much and was glad to see him.
This was the day we finished up the dig.
Mr. H., Granny H, Martha, her boyfriend, and Priscilla Rich came over in the afternoon. We went over to Nippers, Harry Lee and I. I dug a hole where I thought the shell heap should be and it was there I got two white quartz snub scrapers and a piece of worked bone.

Arrowheads
Went up on the hill and from there up to the Browne dig to finish the pit George and I found yesterday.
This pit proved to be shell lined at the base. It was 30 inches across, perfectly round, three feet deep.
It was filled with very black dirt, some charcoal, and some very large fish vertebra.
I took 17 sea clams shells from the bottom and they were all in perfect condition. They were laid like tile over the bottom and part way up the sides.
Found three artifacts, one good red felsite triangular and two broken ones.
Went up to George’s to dinner and stayed till Thel got thru work.
Saw eight almost full grown pheasants across the field from the house.
