Mrs. H. Went to Boston today.
I saw a woodcock up on the hill.
There are some terrible forest fires burning all over New England. There has been no rain so far this month and the woods are dry as tinder.
There is a big fire in Reading. We tried to get Dave on the phone. No luck. Wilmington was cut off the circuit.
We got Geo. Newell and he said that Dave had called him earlier and that they could see the fire from their home.
Thel, Eleanor, and I went to see the “Foxes of Harrow” in the movies.
The wind changed to north tonight and it is colder.
