Fair + Warm
Ski’s horse got us up at 5 A.M. He came right out through the side of the barn.
Saw the chipmunk.
Put milorganite on the flower beds.
Eleanor and her two girls were here for dinner.
I went up with her at noon and I trimmed her grape vine and her Rhododendron bush.
On the way home from work I took a look at Jennie Chandler’s and all I found was two broken pieces.
The swallows are here.
Ski went to the pictures tonight.
Dave called up and said they won’t be able to make it down here this week end. Dale had an operation had her tonsils out, and an operation on her nose. He said she is pretty weak.

I was really surprised to read that he saw swallows so early, and remarked out loud that there was no way that was happening here THIS year. Less than one hour later, three tree swallows were wheeling and snapping up insects over Savery Pond. I am completely delighted to be so wrong!
