109th day- 257 days follow

Fair + Cold

Thel and I left here at 6 A.M. and took Sawci up to Evelin Holman’s and left her there.

Then we picked up Frieda + Oscar and we all went up to Martin Elberg’s in Freyburg, Maine.

We got there at 12 Noon  and we had dinner at 2 P.M.  Then we took a ride over across the Saco River up to a great outcrop of rock, The Jockey Cap.  When we got there all of us but Oscar walked up to the top of the cap.  It sure is a monster of a rock.  At its foot there are a group of mammoth pieces of rock that have broken off the main boulder forming a large care.  The formation of the rock is granite, quartz, mica, and small garnets.

From here we took a ride over to see the town that was completely burned down last fall by a forest fire last October.

We got back to Martin’s about 7 P.M., had our supper, and went to bed about 11 P.M.
