Fair and Hot

Saw Harry up on the hill this A.M.

After dinner I went up on the hill and fixed the hot water heater in the barn.

Then I took a ride over to the Browne Site.  I saw Howard Sampson trimming Geo. Crowell’s hedge.

At the site I finished digging out the shell pit.  It was two feet across round and three feet deep.  The shell was almost all soft shore clams, a few sea clams and two cockles.  All these practically were whole.  There was some disintegrating mussel shell and some grey

 ashes.

I found the top half of what was a wonderful celt… the edge half missing.

One fine grinding stone, one good red felsite triangular knife, and one small white quartz scraper.

I rode up to Eleanor’s and got a drink of water.

Came home and Thel and I went down to Valler’s and had supper and from there down to the camp and we stayed a couple of hours.

I played George one game of horseshoes, because he beat Dave and I won from George.
