242nd day- 124 days follow

Hot but some Breeze

George got me this A.M. and I went up to his house for dinner.

After dinner we washed the car and took a ride down as far as Mashpee and back.

This evening Thel, Ski, Bud, and I took a ride down to Valler’s and had supper.  When we started to leave the car stalled and we couldn’t get it going.

Gat Lapham came over and took his car and started pushing us.  We had gone about ½ a mile towards the Cape when a car shot out of line behind us and shot through between us crowding the other line.  That one car shot out across us + we hit it broadside.  No one was hurt but there was an awful traffic snarl for a few minutes.  Thel + I walked back to Valler’s. Gat pushed our car down to the bog.

Thel called Pete Gellar.  He said he would come down with his wrecker, but to take off the gas cap and try to start it, so Bud, Gat + Ski went back to the car, took the gas cap off and it started right off.

Pete came down.
