274th day- 92 days follow
Fair + Warm
We ate breakfast this morning. After breakfast and a good night’s sleep we rode all day and saw the most beautiful colored foliage that anyone could wish to look at.
First we rode away up into the hills then turned back and went down by the Man of the Mountain, the Flume, and the Indian Head. We ate dinner there.
I took a tram ride up to the top of Cannon Mountain, and it was the biggest dollar’s worth I have ever spent.
From there we rode down as far as Plymouth, then we turned back and came home by Conway and Bartlett.
We got home about 8 P.M.
When we got home, Mr. Lowe had a stone that he thinks is of Indian origin. I was sorry that I had to disagree as I feel sure it is a sliver flaked off a large rock or ledge and smoothed up by erosion and water and gravel wear.
I sent three postals today.
There was a cloud of flying ants at the top of Cannon Mountain. The air was full of them.
