275th day- 91 days follow

Rain + Warm

When we woke up this morning it was raining lightly.  I went down to the store and got some milk + cereal.

Went down again and looked the place over.  There is a restroom, store, repair shop, and a garage all connected.

There are cows, pigs, + hens on the side hill above the trout stream.

This afternoon we took a ride down as far as Conway and back.  We saw the Sabine house where we stayed on a trip several years ago.

We had a thunder storm tonight, but not a very hard one.

The old man Lowe didn’t have a bonfire tonight. Too wet.

One of the men here knew Old Nat Hoxie and used to go trout and bass fishing up at Nat’s hatchery.

He also knew some people in Essex that I knew.

  1. Nat Hoxie had a home on Sandwich Road and would host fishing and hunting trips. I remember as a child seeing Paul Dudley White riding his bicycle in the neighborhood, while he stayed at the Hoxie house. I was pretty young at the time, but I was told that he was a well known heart physician from Boston.
