276th day- 90 days follow
Fair + Hot 78 in the shade
This morning we pulled out of Randolph and Thel drove through to Rockingham Park.
We went in and saw the races.
Thel and Ski lost $1.80 on the horses. Bud won $6.80.
I have never seen so many autos in one place before. It took us 1 ½ hours to get out of the park.
We stopped at Weymouth for supper. I had a stomach ache so I had two biscuits and two cups of coffee.
We got home about 10:40.
Saw very few birds on the trip, only two greek squirrels, perhaps 20 crows.
Saw a lot of nice places to look for arrowheads.
((Twenty Years Later 1968))*
Bob Gibson broke two world records. He won his 6th straight game in the World Series, and struck out 17 men today, pitching for the Cardinals, beating the Tigers. Some ball player.
*Ed. Note. I love the fact that Jesse obviously reread some of his diaries, and made notes of events that happened twenty years later.
