311th day- 55 days follow
(Arrowheads)
Fair + Warm
The last three days have been very warm for this time of the year, warm south wind, with the temp in the 60’s.
Heard a lot of shooting this A.M., some on the shore and some in the woods.
This noon Ralph Medcalf came in from New Bedford, and I took him up to the Browne Site to introduce him to a campsite dig. He got two good arrowheads which pleased him. About 3 P.M. Bill Whiting showed up. I was surprised to see him. He dug a little and found nothing. I did the digging and Ralph did the filling in.
About the time Bill showed [up] I found some pits, two small ones + one large one. I found one fine small triangular felsite in one pit, one fine green flint at the edge of another, also about a pint of finger nail sized pottery cherds on the edge of the large pit, four feet across + three feet deep. It was full of sea clam shells, deer bones, two large cherds of a very thick pot.
Also I got one green grey large knife, two red felsite knives good, + one good felsite scraper.

Does anyone know where the Browne site was?
