Showers. Mild.
Thel took George and I up to the top of the pine hills and dropped us off. We took a walk up the Lookout Road and I found plenty of deer tracks, put in a couple of hours watching deer run.
Then we took a walk down a woods road and came out at the foot of the hill by Snell’s bog.
Then we came back up the state road. We turned in to take the road to look at Cleft rock.
We heard a shot over by Greenwood’s and a couple of minutes later a big doe crossed the road right in front of us. She was going like a streak. Both of us shot at her and missed.
We saw several hunters between the showers in the afternoon.
I heard that a hunter was shot over on the Beaver Dam Road this morning.
Had supper at George’s and Thel came after me.
Thel went out to a meeting at the church tonight.
