343rd day- 23 days follow

Fair + Mild

Worked up on the hill till 10 A.M. when the telephone man came to line up a new job for me.

While I was there George Stefani drove up and he had a doe deer in the trunk of the car.

He started to hunt by Cleft Rock where we shot at the doe Monday.  It was about fifty yards from the spot that we both shot at it Monday.

She had been buck shot in the body and probably lived quite a long time before she died.

Geo. said after he cleaned the doe he started to drag her out when a buck ran right out in front of him.

One reason I think the doe hadn’t been dead too long, as the buck was still hanging around her.

George and I hunted all the afternoon but found nothing.

I had supper at Eleanor’s and George brought me home.

Moths were flying around today.

Geo. Crowell called up and said the turkeys have got to go into the deep freeze.

We sure got into some terrible briar patches today.

Geese flew over tonight.
