344th day- 22 days follow

Cloudy + Colder

This morning George and I headed up as far as the Lookout, and down over the east side of the Pine HIlls.  From the Lookout, we found some wonderful deer trails, pawings and scraped trees.

We came out by Snell’s bog and came back to the State Road, and turned in by Valley Road and started to brush up towards Cleft Rock.  When Geo. got up to the location where he found the dead doe yesterday, he jumped another and had a shot at it.  No luck.

When we got up to Cleft Rock about noon a big buck had just passed by on the thawed out mud.

I saw a rabbit and a partridge and jumped two partridges I didn’t see.

We came out of the woods by the cottage that Chas. Sherman [owned]. We got a ride home from there.
