Skeleton
Fair + Mild
This morning I rode my wheel over to the Nook to help the gang take out the skeleton. Charlie Sherman was the only one there, so he and I started in to dig a seven foot square to give us plenty of room at about 11A.M. We got down to trowelling. There was quite a few pieces of white quartz and felsite flakes scattered through the loam.
When we got the bones exposed we found there had been a post hole dug right thru the middle of the burial.
The skeleton Dick uncovered was in the best shape. It was laying north and south, the head at the north facing west. The other skeleton was all smashed up only four of its teeth were found, all front ones.
Part of the bones looked as if they had been been burned, and just dumped in a pile.
I dug up five arrowheads, one edge of the pit, not connected to the grave.
Ate supper at Skiās.
