321st day- 44 days follow

Rain and Cold

Mrs. H. got a grouse and a rabbit yesterday.

Fernstrum was washing up specimens in the barn this morning.

Arthur got me a permit and Jubbie and I burned up brush in back of the barn.

I saw a big grey squirrel on the front drive yesterday, and I called it out of the woods right

up to me.  I have often done it to catbirds and chickadees, but never to a squirrel before.

The town has taken down the last three trees on the west side of the Avenue end of Cliff Street so the street can be widened.

Eleanor and the kids were here for dinner.

Thel picked us up at noon as it was raining hard, and Eleanor gave us a ride back.

Saw a lone loon flying north.
