March 9 Tuesday, 1943

ToDay is the Birthday of ___________

Fair and cold, wind north.

Trimmed some on the junipers till I almost froze, then picked up rubbish the rest of the day.

Found a last year hummingbird’s nest.

Saw a new kind of sparrow at the feeding station. The head marking’s very similar to a male quail.

Got a nice letter from Harry Hornblower, his wife is down in New Orleans visiting her folks. He suspects to get into the Navy.

Stopped in to see Eric today.

I went over to Walder’s tonight and got my income tax papers.

Thelma came over and got me. She and Eleanor went to the Pythian Sisters tonight.
