ToDay is the Birthday of

Fair and warm, wind south.

Mowed lawn today.

Thel and I went up to Hayden’s Mill bridge and there was thousands of herring in the stream. Bill Whiting, Wes, and Mac came up and when they were seeing them out Bill gave me a bushel and I have salted them down, first attempt.

After dinner I dug out dog grass for a couple of hours then planted <…> five hills of sweet corn.

The little house wren and the chewinks have got back to the hill.

Milt was down and helped with the sail boat.

Thel and I went down to Geo. and Bertha Lee’s to supper tonight and we all walked from their house up to George’s garden up at the Nook Farm.
