June 23 Wednesday, 1943

Today is the birthday of Thel paid me $9.00.

Fair and cool wind East.

I finished up the Beach Club and after dinner I saw 3 blimps all at one time.

The three fish are still in the river.

Went over to drill tonight on the base.  When I got to the armory the auxiliary police were all there.

Tonight we went to Finney’s stone crusher.  We had some practice throwing hand granades, and methods, and tactics in the method of attack.

Mary Gallagher came home on the same bus I did.

We had a practice black out tonight and we heard….

“Pity is best taught by fellowship in woe”- Coleridge
