December 16 Thursday, 1943

ToDay is the Birthday of $200. in Bonds

Snow cleared off, cold Wind No

After breakfast Thel took me up on the hill, then we went to Brockton and I got my glasses and Thel got some more xmas presents.

On the way home I stopped in at the bank and bought a 100 dollar bond for myself and two fifties to give Thel for a Christmas present.

Gathered some more greens to make wreaths of.

Our neighbor Ex Rep. Ira C. Ward died this afternoon.

Ski went to the Black and White Club.

May and Ada were down here tonight and stayed all evening. Thel took them home.

Hope to track rabbits in the morning and may be get one.

  1. The Black and White Club was a group of artists who gathered once a week. They’d spend a couple of hours doing pastel or charcoal portraits- I have a great picture of my husband, Steve, which my dad did when Steve “sat” for the group.
