257th day – 108 days to follow

Fair and warm.

Picked another bushel of tomatoes up on the hill.

Mowed the lawn.

Mrs H and I went down on the Avenue and picked one bushel of wild grapes, about ¼ of what we got off the same vines.

She told me she that May Gallagher is coming back Tuesday.

Also that she is getting two new girls next week.

After supper I built a hen roost for Eleanor’s hens and put a door on for her.

Picked five more mellons.

They are getting a little smaller.

We ate the largest one this evening and we never had a better one and I am saving the seed to plant next spring.
