11th day- 354 days follow

Fair and warmer windy.

Burned brush this A.M. in front of the house.

Mr. Bubbins, his son, Mr. H., and Geo. Crowell were on the hill.

After dinner Bill came up and he and I went down to Costello’s corner and found an Indian woman who knew of an Indian rock shelter and she said she would show it to us and we all went to have a look at it.

It was sure worth the trip as it is an enormous graphite boulder that from some unknown cause it underwent a terrific shattering, resulting with the same result as an internal explosion making several deep internal cavities that show evidence of Indian occupation.

Went up on the hill tonight.

Stopped in to (see) Walder and Pick.
