316th day- 50 days follow

(Arrowheads)

Fair + Cooler

This A.M. I went up to the dig alone, and in the afternoon Geo. was with me.  We did a lot of digging but a lot of it was all in one enormous pit three feet deep and I haven’t any idea how large, as it got dark while we were still working on it.

In this pit I got five large and several small pieces of soapstone, one small oblong rubbing stone, one very good grooved hammer stone, one small hammer stone, probably a flaker, one grey felsite spear base, one white quartz scraper, one almost whole flint arrowhead. Must have been a beaut when whole, one white quartz arrowhead, and one slate base, and one red triangular arrowhead, one corner gone.

While we were digging three large flocks of brant and one flock of geese flew over.

I went up to George’s and had supper and stayed till 9 P.M.

Thel has a K. of C. banquet up at Carl’s tonight.  I hope it goes off fine.

Up to now we had had a fine autumn.

I puttied up some more windows.
