345th day- 21 days follow

Fair + Cold

North wind today and cold.

Cleaned seven turkeys, and worked the rest of the [day] digging a trench to run an underground telephone wire from the house to my tool shop.

Arthur Nickerson was doing the wiring on Ski’s house today.

I saw a march quail in the field back of the house, the first one for a long time.  There used to be real flocks of them around here once, but they had a bad habit of going down on the beach in the winter and they have been practically exterminated by hunters.
