111th day- 254 days follow

Fair + Warmer

This is the nicest day we have had.

When I got home at noon Thel told me Ernest Johns had shot himself.

When I was a kid there were four of the old timer lobstermen.

Joseph Boutin went crazy, Frank Simmons went crazy, Charlie Pierce shot himself, so that accounts for all four of them.

Roy Holman and his kids were here when I came home at noon.

I stopped at Victoria’s on the way home.  She is feeling better, the abscess in her ear has broken.

Walder was at a bank meeting up at Boston.

Pic said Howard would like to buy the house down by the sheep farm.  He went to look at it over the weekend.

  1. It is an interesting story about the lobstermen. I note a study showed that fishermen have PTSD screening rates similar to those of veterans who served in the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm). The report said, “Fishermen’s elevated PTSD screening rate, coupled with their low likelihood of help-seeking behaviors, increases the risk of poor health outcomes associated with PTSD.”
