136th day- 229 days follow

Partly Cloudy    Cool

Mickey carted kindling and fireplace wood into the house cellar.

I transplanted flower beds.

After supper I took a ride on the truck with Archie with a load of road material down on the Cape.

Thel took Eleanor and the kids for a ride down to the canal.

Cozette and her mother were over here for a lobster dinner.

I heard that Skippy Nickerson caught a 14 ½ [lb,] rainbow trout off of River St. bridge.

Thel and I visited Archie and Cozette this evening.

Fanny Holman was there.  We took her home.

I heard a cuckoo yesterday.

  1. The trout I caught off of the River St. bridge has grown over the years. It was actually 41/2 lbs. At this time of year, every night after supper, most of the people of Chiltonville would gather at the bridge and fish for white perch which were running upstream to spawn. Here the world’s problems would be solved every night…
