April 15 Thursday, 1943

ToDay is the Birthday of

First day of trout fishing. Mrs. H went all day. I don’t know what she got.

Had 10 tons of coal come up on the hill, from Boston.

Saw the chickadees cleaning out the bird house they nested in last summer.

Saw Harry and his wife today. He has bought a copy of an old map.

The kids are fixing up a place in my garage to put a lamb in that they have bought.

My garden is packed down as hard as a rock.

Still cold today, doesn’t’ seem a bit like spring.

Thelma went to town.

Most all of the seeds are up in my cold frame.

Walder had his garden plowed and harrowed.
