ToDay is the Birthday of

Overcast, wind east.

Heard the first robin song.

Transplanted yews in the linden grove, euronymous along the flagpole wall, and turtle-head by the front step.

Planted 12 rows of string beans and a patch of beets. Planted cucumbers and watermelons in moss as an experiment.

Rode to town with Dot. Holton and went to drill tonight. We went up into the common back of Newfield street and help maneuvers. I was on first patrol, scouting patrol, and we found the enemy’s port no. 1 and no. 4.

Rode partway home with Arnold.

Paul Goodwin wants some rhubarb plants.
