ToDay is the Birthday of

After supper we went up to the church and spent an hour with Rev McLane then we all went into the main hall and the community held a reception for him. They had a group of tableaus representing the life of Rev McLane. After that a grand march and Virginia reel.

Then we went upstairs and ice cream and coffee was served, and Grace Snow made a very good presentation speech and gave Rev. McLane an envelope containing a hundred and fifty dollars as a farewell gift.

There was over a hundred people there.

I saw Margery Music there.

The swallows are flocking up again, a sign of fall. They skipped the last three years of flocking up around here.
