ToDay is the Birthday of

Fair and cool, wind SoW.

After ate my supper, I took a ride over to Eel River bridge, saw Geo Moon and his wife. They let me take their boat and I rowed around for a whole trolling and didn’t get a strike.

So I tried drifting using worms for bait and had a couple of bits before I got to the bridge.

Started to still fish, holding on to a willow branch to keep the boat still, the limb broke off and I darn near fell over into the river.

But I got one fine big white perch.

On the way home I rode over to Deno’s and he said that Martin would be by tomorrow.

Mosquitoes were darn thick on the river, saw several quaks and heard one stake driving, saw a wild duck.

“By gnawing through a dyke, even a rat may drown a nation.” Burke
