120th day – 246 days follow

50        Fair

Worked on the bird house and went down to the Yacht Club and fixed up the flower beds.

After dinner I planted some beans, peanuts, lettuce, cabbage. Cauliflower, radishes, and broccoli.

Went up on the hill and did the chores. Saw Mr. H and Geo Cromell. Geo gave me some herring rowe.

The boss is putting in a freezing unit for meat in the barn cellar.

After supper Elanor, Ski, Thel, and I went over to Geo Holmans to a farewell party, they had a full house.

Harry Hathaway was there, he had just got home on a 30 day furlough and he said he came back on the Queen Mary, in six days, with a load of German prisoners of war. He said they all thought that New York and Chicago had been bommed out.

Eleanor got a long distance all from her husband while we were at the party.
