20th day- 345 days follow

Cold and spitting snow

Thel got up at 2 A.M. and shut off the furnace as it was leaking oil.

I got up at 7:30 A.M. and called up Lewis Briar to come and fix the furnace.

Went up on the hill and fixed the fires, nobody up.

Went up to the store after the paper, had a ride up with Russ Snow.

Eleanor and George came here for dinner, they had trouble with their stove this A.M.

George went to town for some pipe for the furnace.

I called up Carver again to find where Lewis Briar was. They said he had left, that was a couple of hours ago.

Lewis Briar showed up just before dark and fixed up the furnace.

He told me about the hard luck he had this winter. One of his sons (was) killed and two injured in an auto accident.
