(Smoke)

Smoky + Cool

The upper sky has a layer of smoke that almost shuts out the sun.

There was a large flock of quail up by the barn when Jub and I got to work this morning.

Jub passed his physical yesterday and expects to be called in from two to three weeks.

After work we took a ride over to Geo. Crowell’s house, and he was home.  He took us all over the house and seemed glad we called.

I feel very sorry for George.  He is such a fine fellow.

Eleanor came down about 8 P.M. + took me up to her house, as she had to go to work up at the Jordan Hospital.  George went up to Brockton to a plumber’s school and stayed to take the first night lesson.
