January 22 Friday, 1943

ToDay is the Birthday of ___________

Cold northwest wind today.

So cold on the hill that I started up the fire in the kitchen stove.

Tripoli was captured by the British today, things are looking better for us every day.

Stopped in to see Eric today. He is fine. Walder’s aunt Julia was there. I had intended to go over and drill tonight but have a sore throat and don’t feel too good, so I stayed home.

My and Thelma’s income tax blanks came through, the next step is to fill out and pay up.

A week ago tonight we were on our way to N.Y.
