158th day – 208 days follow
D Day
The allied invasion started last night.
Worked on the old rose garden all morning.
John Finney’s gang are up on the hill working on the drive.
The radio is running steady on news and comments on the invasion,
John Finney was up himself this afternoon.
Corporal Cotti called up at supper time calling me out to the Armory. Thel took me over.
We marched over to Memorial Hall to a prayer meeting of the Minister and Rabbi of the churches of Plymouth.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary were there in uniform too.
Rode as far as Geo Crowells and stopped off and talked with Geo for half an hour or so.
Walked from there home.
Thel saw Al Raymond and he won’t be about to spray the gypsys down at the camp.
Saw Bobbie at the prayer meeting.
I just love the intertwining of history with day to day country life…”The allied invasion started last night. Worked on the old rose garden all morning.”
